Tamra is a native Minnesotan, having grown up on a lake just west of Minneapolis (she can speak Minnesotan with a perfect accent!).
She has a B.A. in French from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Masters in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento. She spent two years in Paris (working and at La Sorbonne) and then spent two years in Madrid, Spain working for international attorneys in order to become fluent in Spanish.
Next she moved to the California Bay area and spent the eight years working in marketing, public relations, and advertising before going back to graduate school to earn her Masters in Social Work.
For the last 20+ years Tamra has been working as a therapist in Austin, Texas. Earlier in her career she worked for organizations such as Austin Child Guidance Center and El Buen Samaritano, before opening her own private practice. She has a background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Bodynamics, and Child Therapy (including parenting and Play Therapy). Naturally curious, Tamra attributes her breadth of 'specializations' to a lifelong love of learning.
She is also a dog lover, and has a therapy dog (Duke, on the right) who comes into work with her.
